What we repair

Control systems, remotes, drives, vehicle modules and obsolete electronics — named so you can see yourself in the list.

  • Digital hydraulic valve drivers and amplifiers
  • Asphalt and concrete screed heating controllers

Vehicle, plant and fleet electronics

The modules that keep trucks, plant and fleets moving.

  • Engine control units (ECUs)

When the original is gone

Obsolete electronics you cannot buy next week.

  • Obsolete module cloning
  • Control systems repair
  • Custom replacement boards

If it is industrial, on a vehicle, or on plant — and it is not a phone screen — send it in. We will say whether it is worth doing.

One workshop

Repair, clone or rebuild — one Hamilton workshop

You should not have to guess the path. We look at the job and recommend the work that gets the equipment earning again.

When a connected product is the right answer — electronics, a dashboard, alerts on a phone — that can sit in the same conversation. Most jobs do not need all of that. We will not sell you a system you do not need.

Repair what we can. Clone what you cannot buy. Rebuild when nothing else will do.

Why this workshop

Why NZ businesses send electronics here

Named kit, not vague “electronics”

Crane remotes, VFDs, PLCs, ECUs, HMIs, ABS modules — if it is on the list, this is the workshop.

Repair before you scrap the machine

If the plant around the board is still sound, we check whether the electronics can be saved.

Clone when the spare is gone

Obsolete modules copied or rebuilt so a still-good machine is not written off for want of a board.

You speak with the person doing the work. Photos first; send the unit when it is worth it.

Straight answers

If replacement is cheaper, or the job is not a fit, we say so. Diagnostic fees are set out before we open a unit.

Examples of the work

Gateways, monitoring and board-level repair — on the bench

These are our own demonstration builds, published so you can see the kind of work we do. They are not customer testimonials.

Plant electronics. We assess whether repair or cloning is justified before anyone buys a replacement.

Industrial electronics repair

From a Palfinger remote to a PLC on an old line

Control systems, crane remotes, VFDs, ECUs, HMIs, power supplies and specialist modules. If the equipment around it is still good, we will tell you whether the electronics can be saved. Diagnostic fees may apply where we need to investigate first.

When you need more than a repair

Obsolete cloning, custom electronics and connected products

If the original cannot be repaired or bought, we can clone it or build a replacement. If you are developing a product, we can take it from a working idea through to hardware, a dashboard and phone apps — when the job actually needs that.

Hamilton, Waikato

Hamilton workshop. Freight in from anywhere in New Zealand.

We work with workshops, manufacturers, farms, transport operators, trades businesses and plant owners across the Waikato — and on New Zealand-wide jobs where freight and photos are enough to start.

The useful question is not which specialist to hire. It is who can look at this module and tell you what is actually worth doing.

What happens when you contact us?

  1. Send photos. A few photos of the unit, the equipment, and a short note of the fault. Model numbers help if you have them.
  2. We say if we can help. Straight answer: worth investigating, better replaced, or not a fit for this workshop.
  3. Investigation cost is set out first. If we need to open the unit before anyone can know, we explain that cost. Diagnostic fees may apply.
  4. An estimate for the work we can see. An estimate for the agreed repair, clone or rebuild. A complication found later is priced when it is found. We do not guess a price from a one-line email.
  5. We repair, clone or rebuild it. Repair where it makes sense. Clone or design a replacement where the original cannot be saved or bought.
  6. Tested before it goes back. Checked against what was agreed before it leaves the Hamilton workshop.

Questions

Industrial electronics repair — common questions

What industrial electronics do you repair in Hamilton?

PLCs, VFDs, CNC and servo drives, HMIs and touch panels, switch-mode power supplies, industrial sensors, communication gateways and protocol converters, hydraulic valve drivers, and asphalt or concrete screed heating controllers. Consumer phone repair is not the service. Send photos and we will say whether investigation is worthwhile.

Do you repair Palfinger, Hiab and concrete bowl remotes?

Yes. Palfinger and Hiab crane remotes, concrete bowl remote controls and other heavy-plant remotes are a regular part of the workshop. Photos of the transmitter, receiver and the fault are enough to start.

Can you repair ECUs, ABS modules and instrument clusters?

Yes. Engine control units, transmission control modules, ABS modules, dashboard displays and instrument clusters, plus fleet telematics and GPS gateways. This is hardware repair of failed modules — not engine remapping or performance tuning.

Can you clone an obsolete module?

Often, when the original cannot be repaired or bought. Cloning and custom replacement boards are how we keep sound plant in service when the spare is gone. It is not always possible. Photos and a short fault history tell us whether it is worth looking at.

I do not have the part number. Can you still help?

Yes. Photos of the unit, the equipment it came out of, and a plain note of what it used to do and what it does now are enough. We will identify it.

Do you work outside Hamilton?

Yes. The workshop is in Hamilton, Waikato. Freight from anywhere in New Zealand is normal. Photos first, then we tell you whether to send the unit.

Can every board be repaired?

No. Some faults cost more than a replacement. Some damage cannot be repaired safely. An enquiry with photos tells you whether investigation is worthwhile. If the original cannot be repaired or bought, we can look at cloning or a new unit to do the same job.

Do you only work with businesses?

Workshops, manufacturers, farms, transport operators and plant owners are the main focus. Suitable individual repair jobs are accepted when they fit the bench.

Enquire

A failed remote, a VFD, an ECU, a PLC, a board you cannot replace — photos and a short fault note are enough.

Send photos of the unit. We will reply with the next step.

No account required. Photos of the unit, the equipment, or a model plate are the most useful attachments.

Useful attachments: photos of the unit (both sides if you can), the equipment it sits in, a model plate, or a short note of the fault.
